Good Afternoon Resident
We would like to inform you of an incident which occurred this morning in Bottesford. At approximately 06:45, a report was received regarding a male attempting to open car doors on Chapel Street and was also seen on Queen Street. Officers from the Melton Response Team attended as a Grade 1 emergency. A male matching the description was sighted and fled across fields, prompting a foot pursuit along and into a nearby river.
Support was also provided by Lincolnshire Police, including a drone and a dog unit. Despite extensive efforts, the suspect was not located and officers were redeployed to other incidents. We continue to encourage residents to report any suspicious activity via 101, or 999 in the event of a crime in progress. Additional patrols will be conducted where operationally possible.

Be cautious in car parks – park near entrances or under lights. Check surroundings before unlocking your car – stay alert to suspicious activity.
